BIO: GARRISON NUNN
Garrison Nunn is a singer-songwriter from Montgomery, Texas, whose music defies easy categorization. Blending the storytelling roots of country with the emotional gravity of alternative and singer-songwriter influences, his songs carry the kind of honesty that feels both deeply personal and universally human. Nunn moved to Nashville in 2021 to pursue school and music, originally studying biology before being accepted into pharmacy school, where he’s currently working toward his Doctorate of Pharmacy degree.
“My two worlds couldn’t be more opposite,” he says. “One day I’m filling prescriptions and giving shots, and the next I’m pouring my heart out on stage. I always told myself the two balance each other, and maybe they don’t, but I make them work.” That tension between discipline and emotion, science and soul, drives the duality that defines Nunn’s art.
His influences stretch far beyond genre lines - from Turnpike Troubadours and Zach Bryan to Ed Sheeran, Radiohead, and Stephen Wilson Jr. “All those artists tap into me emotionally,” he explains. “They make me feel something - and that’s what I want my music to do for others.”
Nunn began playing live shows nearly a decade ago in small Texas wine bars, eventually growing into festival stages and private shows. But for him, the stage has always been sacred ground. “It’s where I’m happiest,” he says simply. “That connection - singing lyrics I wrote in my bedroom and seeing someone in the crowd feel them - there’s nothing like it.”
His debut album, Feather In The Wind, marks a defining chapter in his journey - a culmination of years spent learning who he is, both as an artist and a person. The record captures the push and pull of chasing dreams while staying grounded, weaving stories of heartbreak, resilience, and self-discovery throughout all ten of its tracks.
“I’ve always believed my purpose is to help people get through the hard times,” Nunn says. “Music was there for me when nobody else was. Now I want to be that for someone else.” His writing is unflinchingly honest, anchored by humility and a willingness to bare every emotion. “I don’t want to fit into one box,” he adds. “I’m just another dude chasing what he loves - but God gave me this gift, and I feel like it’s my job to use it.”
Even as he balances the demands of pharmacy school with his musical ambitions, Nunn remains steadfast in his vision. “Having both lives gives me balance,” he reflects. “I don’t stress about the numbers or chasing trends. I’m focused on making something real - and if one person connects with my music, that’s enough. My younger self would’ve given anything to be heard like that, so I always try to see my career through his eyes.”
With Feather In The Wind, Garrison Nunn introduces himself as an artist unafraid to tell the truth - about pain, faith, love, and growing up - all while holding tight to the belief that music can heal, one song at a time.
